AnaOno Lingerie mastectomy designs hit NYC Fashion Week runway
This week all eyes will be on New York Fashion Week, and on the first ever mastectomy runway event AnaOno Lingerie will make it one for the record books with EXPOSED!
EXPOSED: a powerful runway show experience celebrating a diverse set of women living with varying stages of breast cancer, previvor to survivor, presented by AnaOno Lingerie and #Cancerland at Art Hearts Fashion during New York Fashion Week. The groundbreaking event is proudly hosted by Academy Award-winning actress and breast cancer advocate Mira Sorvino, lifelong best friend to #Cancerland Founder and advocate Champagne Joy. Led by Champagne, models walking the show range from a ballet dancer to a tattoo artist; a musician to public figures, encompassing varying breast cancer diagnoses, surgery and reconstruction choices as well as surgical scarring. All 15 women taking the runway are set to bravely expose the reality of breast cancer alongside their own strength and determination in fighting through the battle.
AnaOno Lingerie founder, designer and survivor Dana Donofree, hopes that this event will raise awareness by opening a national dialog for the need for post-mastectomy products and services.
“We need to bring the conversation forward that women with mastectomies and lumpectomies, with or without reconstruction, need alternative options from the traditional bra market, and that includes a specialized fit, construction, and expertise!”
The groundbreaking show is proudly hosted by Academy Award-winning actress and breast cancer advocate Mira Sorvino, lifelong best friend to #Cancerland Founder and advocate Champagne Joy. AnaOno x #Cancerland EXPOSED will take place at Art Hearts Fashion New York Fashion Week on Sunday, February 12 at 5 p.m. at the Angel Orensanz Center (172 Norfolk Street) on the Lower East Side.
